I am a fairly new author, however not necessarily a young one. My writing all started because of my two grandsons, I wanted them to remember me. Like many other readers my preference is fantasy, adventure and always mystery. It's been said that my stories are in kind with The Hardy Boys. There is always an adventurous mystery to be solved.
I had been toying with the thought of the family that inherited Alice's looking glass. This idea created my first two books, the most important thing was for that family to protect the famous mirror and the inhabitants. It started with the family, including Mother, Father, daughter Alice and son Binky, losing much of their money and possessions in Scotland. Semi-broke but not disheartened they head for the United States where they had a distant family member that would take them in for a price. Peddiewick their American cousin was not the benefactor that they had hoped. He expected to be paid double what he asked, for the inconvenience, but during a storm at sea they lost that promised compensation. They have other treasure but it had been hidden in a reflected castle inside Mirror and no one knows where.
In Dragons in the Mirror, you not only meet the family but you meet my neighbor, Helen who had become the boys best friend.
Being close in age she and Alex immediately bonded over his play kitchen, yes they were very young when the met.
To find out what becomes of this brave family, read Alex's and Nathan's Treasure Hunt parts I and II.
I always feel encouraged after reading comments from my story-lovers.
